Background
The origins of The London Essence Co. begin in 1896. The company became well-known for its authentic soft drinks, distilled using the highest quality fruits and botanicals.

Whilst the company flourished and enjoyed many successes, unfortunately it couldn’t maintain its custom and was slowly lost as a memory in time.

Fast-forward to 2016 and a discover was made. Wisehead Productions is a company dedicated to creating the finest drinks. Their parent company is the global soft drinks company, Britvic. It was a rummage through Britvic’ archives which uncovered the story of The London Essence Co. At a time when gin and spirits are being fully appreciated, it seemed fortuitous to have the opportunity of reviving this forgotten company.

Development
Ounal Bailey, co-founder of Wisehead Productions worked closely with bartenders to revive The London Essence Co. and create a range of mixers which would “exceed expectations within the premium mixer category.”

The range was launched with three tonics and a ginger ale and has since expanded to include two sodas. The mixers have been deliberately designed to showcase the true character of the spirit.

They are low in sugar at 4g per 100ml with the touch of sweetness added by stevia.

Established 1896. Refreshed 2016.

Design
The bottles are elegantly packaged, adding sophistication to the soft drink category. With sculpted glass and embossing on the label, London Essence Co’s products look as good as they taste.

Tasting Note - Classic Tonic Water
Aromas:
Bright enticing aromas of zesty lime, elderflower and quinine.

Palate: A succulent, soft mouthfeel. A hint of juniper and lime with a refreshing finish.

Conclusion
The flavours captured in London Essence Co’s range are incredible. Brilliant authenticity and restraint create delicate styles which are delicious on their own and balance with many spirits.
